The person behind Ascent.
Ascent wasn't built by a faceless company. It was designed and built by one working software engineer who wanted to make the climb into tech less lonely, and who's on the line if you need help.
Hi, I'm Zeeshan
I'm Zeeshan Niaz, a full-stack engineer based in Peshawar, Pakistan. I build scalable web and mobile applications: React and Next.js on the front end, Node.js and databases on the back end, running on AWS. I also run SwiftRoc, a software studio that turns early ideas into elegant apps that actually ship, with 20+ mobile apps and 15+ web platforms delivered for clients across several countries. Ascent is something I designed and built end-to-end myself: this portal, the curriculum, and Compass.
Why I built this
I studied Computer Science and worked my way into real engineering roles, shipping products for startups and clients. Ascent is the guide I wish I'd had: structured, judgment-first, and honest about what each tech path is actually like. When you're in Foundations, the person who built your tools is a working engineer who ships real software, and who is rooting for you to make it.
What I work with
- Front end: React, Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
- Back end: Node.js, Express, SQL & NoSQL databases, REST APIs
- Mobile: Flutter for iOS & Android (through SwiftRoc)
- Cloud: AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, SES/SNS, EventBridge
- Also into: automation, AI-driven tools, and a bit of hardware (a Bluetooth eBike telemetry service)

SwiftRoc is my software studio, where I ship mobile and web products for clients. GitHub is where my code and side-projects live, and LinkedIn is the best place to reach me directly.
Built for you, by someone who made the same climb.
